ProductionThe Hen Party makes an ideal short play for staging in smaller theatres and village halls etc. The actresses playing each of the roles must all be close in age. However, the age group of the three actresses you cast in the play can be aged between late teens and early thirties. All of the characters in the play are very fashion conscious and this should be reflected in the costumes they wear during the play. Ideally a boxed set would work the best for this play although the set and props suggestions described in this script could be simplified or changed to meet with your space and budgetary requirements. The set itself should suggest a room (Room 4) in a fictitious seafront hotel in Margate, Kent, which has seen better days and is in much-need of redecoration. Indeed, much of the furniture you add to the set should ideally be from the 1970s.
